Darrell C. Gardner, age 51, passed away as a result of an accident at his residence on May 31, 2010. Darrell was born in Price, Utah on May 26, 1959 to Van J. and Georgia Gardner. A 1977 graduate of Emery High School he continued his education at CEU and USU graduating with a Masters Degree.
As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in many callings. He married Natalie Atwood on Oct. 28, 1988 in the Manti Temple. Darrell loved his family, the outdoors, singing, dancing, playing the guitar, his farm and cows, and of course running, cause that’s what tiggers do best. Darrell loved teaching and coaching; he touched the lives of many students at Emery High. Darrell had a big heart; he was a quiet giver to many in need.
He is survived by his wife Natalie, sons Jake and Jax, daughter D’Lee all of Cleveland, parents Van J. and Georgia Gardner of Orangeville, two brothers Lyndon (Shauna) Gardner of Spring Creek, Nev., Earl Gardner of Ogden, and sister Joyce G (Victor) Staley of Orangeville.
Preceeded in death by sister Kathryn Beth Gardner.
There was a viewing at the Heritage Funeral Home at 620 N. Main St. in Huntington on Wednesday June 2, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Huntington Stake Center at 200 N. Main St. in Huntington on Thursday June 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. with a visitation at the church from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment followed in the Cleveland City Cemetery under the trusted care of the Heritage Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Zions Bank under Darrell’s name.
