LAWRENCE-Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and dear friend, Clark W. Christensen passed away peacefully Jan. 31, 2011 at his home in Lawrence at the age of 67.
He was born in Huntington, Utah on Nov. 20, 1943 to James N. and Mary W. Wilson Christensen.
Clark was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Emery High School before being drafted into the US Army. Clark served in Germany defending his country during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he fought fires for the forest service before getting a job with the Emery County Telephone Company. Clark worked for the phone company for 35 years, and he’s still known to most of Emery County as “The Telephone Man”.
Clark was a cowboy. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and riding horses. He always looked forward to the round-up every year, and the opportunity to spend time in the mountains with friends and bring the cattle home. He enjoyed farming beside his wife and kids, and many helpful neighbors and friends.
Clark was a friend to all. He made everyone feel at home with his genuine, caring nature, and his ability to make everyone laugh. He was witty, charming, and his quick smile brought great joy to everyone he was acquainted with. Clark was well liked by everyone he met.
Most of all, Clark was a loving husband and father. He married the love of his life Vikki Winders, with whom he was blessed with 40 years of marriage. He told his wife he loved her everyday and together they raised four children. There was nothing Clark couldn’t accomplish for his family. He will be dearly missed by all.
