ST. GEORGE/PRICE- James Mack Potter, 73, passed away Jan. 25, 2011, literally surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 30, 1937 in Huntington, Utah to James Harold and Della Adelia McElprang Potter. He married Judy Jensen, his high school sweetheart, in the Manti LDS Temple on June 6, 1958. They were married nearly 53 years.
Mack graduated from North Emery High School and later the University of Utah. He was a loving husband and father, raising his four children with his devoted wife Judy in Carbon and Emery counties. He was a member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving as a high councilman. Mack was a business owner in the area for more than 35 years. He worked hand in hand with Judy and their children, teaching them to work hard and be honest. He and Judy moved to Washington, Utah in 2004. In his retirement years he thoroughly enjoyed more family time, having two of his grandchildren live with him and Judy while they attended college. He loved visiting and joking with his family, creating many fond memories for them. AGramps@ was AThe Best@.
Mack is survived by his wife, Judy; children: James Jae (Lisa) Potter of Price, Utah, William Mackae (Cheryl) Potter of North Ogden, Utah, Judith (Dave) Johnson of Cedar City, Utah, and Thomas Lee (Kristan) Potter of Huntington, Utah; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother, William Potter of Price, Utah; sister, Diana (Bruce) Ware of Cleveland, Utah, and sister Bonnie (Neil) Frandsen of Price, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Francis Potter.
Funeral Services were Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Price Fourth/Fifth Ward Chapel, 45 E. 400 N., Price, Utah. A viewing was held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 S., Price, Utah and Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment was in the Huntington City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements were under the direction of Fausett Mortuary, 435-637-1181.
