Cleveland-Ronald Edward Kennedy, age 62, died Jan. 30, 2011 in his home. Ron was born on Feb. 5, 1948 in Durango, Colo, to Edward John and Elise Lavern Kennedy. He served in the Navy from Aug. 1967 to April 7, 1971 during the Vietnam War. He married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Guymon on May 8, 1971, which was later, solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived in Blanding, Utah for seven years where he worked for the Water Service. They then moved to Cleveland, Utah when he got a job with the Special Service District and he continued to work there until he retired in 2010. After his wife passed away in 1985 he continued to raise, support, love and care for their six daughters. He later married his current sweetheart, Linda Faye Harris on Oct. 26, 2002 in the Manti LDS Temple. He is a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a great love for the outdoors. He also enjoyed teasing everybody. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was recently called to serve in the Manti Temple.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Gena Kennedy of Durango; daughter Charlotte (Ron) Olsen of Price; daughter Shirley (Brian) Barson of Duchesne; daughter RondaLyn Kennedy of Pleasant Grove; daughter Cynthia (Ezra) Williams of Cleveland; daughter JaLeen Kennedy of Pleasant Grove; parents, Edward and Lavern Kennedy of Mancos, Colo., brothers; Walter (Ana Maria) of Denver, James (Tammy) of Farmington, NM, Gary (Kathy) of Mancos, CO, 19 grandchildren and many brother and sister-in-laws.
He is preceded in death by wife Eileen, daughter Darcy, father-in-law Wayne Harris, father-in law Eugene Guymon, and mother-in-law Dorthea Guymon.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS second Ward Chapel (355 West 100 North.) A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Cleveland LDS Church and on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Blanding Cemetery at 4 p.m. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guest book and share memories of Ron at www.fausettmortuary.com
