PRICE-Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Roberta Marie “Berta” Chubbuck Jones, passed away Aug. 6, 2011.
Roberta, “Berta” was born July 17, 1940 to Robert and Marie Chubbuck in the old mining camp of Peerless, Utah above the town of Helper in Spring Canyon.
In Dec. of 1957, she married Samuel Jones in her parents home in Spring Glen, Utah.
Together Sam and Berta had quite a life together including three children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Berta enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends through the years. She had a love for gambling which she shared with her best friend and sister Phyllis. If Berta was your friend you knew it. People with her character and “Grit” are very rare today. She will be dearly missed and never replaced.
Sam and his family wish to thank everyone who has dropped in to express their sorrow with gifts of food and kindness during this time of sadness.
Roberta is survived by her husband Samuel Jones; children, Peggy Hicks, Robert Jones (Christine), Scott Jones (Joelle); grandchildren, Samantha Jones, Braxton Jones, Stephanie Chewning (Ryan), Joshua Seal, Jacob Echeverri, Elizabeth Echeverri, and Jadee Nielson (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Emma Chewning, Hannah Chewning, Katelyn Chewning, Brooklyn Seal, Ryken Seal, Jimmy Tyler Nielson and Jada Nielson; sister, Phyllis Lindsey (Ron); brother Steve Chubbuck (Bilene).
Berta is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marie Chubbuck; and great-grandchild, Jaden Seal.
As were Berta’s wishes there will be no funeral, no mass, and no memorial service.
