BRIGHAM CITY-Laney Lynn Peacock fulfilled her mission here on earth on Aug. 13, 2011 at the tender age of 20. She was born to Wade and Tina Peacock on April 21, 1991 in Nephi, Utah. She was a 2009 Graduate of Box Elder High School where she excelled in basketball, volleyball, and track.
Always the life of the party, she gathered groups of friends to play four-square and go to the lake. She loved to bake, always sharing with those she loved. She loved to serve, and organized weekly trips to the temple to do baptisms for the dead, taking her three little sisters along as soon as they turned 12.
She was so proud of being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was so excited about the Brigham City Temple. She loved her sisters deeply and championed her brother endlessly.
She served the people of Brigham in her role of referee, umpire, organizer for BC recreation and UHSAA and loved every minute of it. Laney was such an amazing girl and touched so many lives. She is already deeply missed but we find solace in the knowledge that she is ours forever.
Laney was preceded in death by her grandparents, Var Lynn Peacock, Pearl Jean Lance, and Joseph Alby Lance. She is survived by her parents, her sisters Alyssa (21), Brynna (15), Ally (12), Addisyn (12), her brother Kaden (18), and Z. Jens Staheli, all of Brigham City. She is also survived by one grandmother, Zora Peacock of Castle Dale, more than 100 first cousins, and many aunts and uncles who adored her.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Brigham City Stake Center, 650 Anderson Dr. in Brigham City. A viewing will be held on Wed.
