CLIO, Mich – Betty Jo Hanson VanLinden, age 76, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 6, 1934 in Price to the late Joseph and Leonda (Wyman) Hanson. She had resided in Clio since 1971 after moving to Michigan in 1957.
Betty married James VanLinden Nov. 12, 1954. He preceded her in death in May 1990. She owned and operated James’ Florist in Flint for several years.
Survived by two children, Kirk VanLinden, Utah and Teri VanLinden, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kelly (Mario) DeBoel, Belgium; Kirk J. VanLinden, Utah; Sherry (James) Sorensen, Utah; Raymond Still, Michigan; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Francy) Hanson, Robert (Lois) Hanson and Raymond (Glenna) Hanson; brother-in-law, Ronald (Lola) VanLinden; many nieces and nephews. Betty was also preceded in death by her brother, Burt Hanson and daughter-in-law Ruth VanLinden.
Visitation Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 12 – 2:30 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 E. Main Street, Price. Funeral services follow. Interment, Price City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
