PRICE-Bernadine Gonzales Glasson, age 57, passed away June 17, 2011 at her home. She was born and raised in the small town of Dragerton, Utah now known as East Carbon on Nov. 20, 1953 to Tiofilo H. and Asucena Herrera Gonzales.
She was baptized at Good Shepherd Catholic Church according to the rite of the Roman Catholic Church. After having her first and only daughter Ronni, she married Frank Lujan of East Carbon in 1972, whom she divorced years later. She then married Mike Glasson of Helper on Feb. 14, 1987. Together they raised two boys, Michael and John James in Price until they divorced 21 years later.
Her greatest joy and happiness in life was raising and caring for her three children, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Bernie was very soft-spoken and was never much of a traveler. She spent most of her time in Price, the place she called home. Bernie never left the house without looking her best and she took great pride in her clean home. She loved jewelry, and one of her favorite indulgences was getting her nails done and shopping for shoes, especially high heels as she never grew taller than 4′ 10″ inches.
Bernie also had a great affinity for animals, especially cats, but she also raised many dogs, rabbits and ducks. She hated the cold and when she couldn’t stand to be outside caring for her animals or gardening, she would be inside cooking delicious meals, crocheting or collecting cute trinkets, model Porsches and books.
Bernie is survived by one daughter and two sons, Ronni (Tracy) Howard, Price, Michael Glasson, Salt Lake City, John James Glasson, Price; two brothers and four sisters, Manuel J. (Shirley) Gonzales, St. George, Angie (Pablo) Jaramillo, Berda (Johnny) Lujan, both of East Carbon, Jr. (Kathy) Gonzales, Tillie Velasquez, both of Colorado, Arlene (Floyd) Vigil, Riverdale; three grandchildren, Patricia (Cory) Summers, Cody Henningson and Damien Maestas; and great-granddaughter, KayDee Summers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
