"The Ghostly Remains of the Mammoth Dam disaster in Lower Gooseberry Valley"

By By

The Historical Society of Emery County will visit the Ghostly Remains of the Mammoth Dam disaster in Lower Gooseberry Valley.
This dam failed on June 24, 1917, sending thousands of feet of water into the Price River Valley. It picked up a Castle Gate railroad depot and also the tracks.
Bring your own lunch and plenty of water.
A high-clearance vehicle is suggested.
Mark your calendar for June 25.
The south end of the county will meet at 9 a.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael in Castle Dale, then travel to meet the north end of the county at 9:15 a.m. at the Huntington City Park.
