FERRON Dianne Brantley, age 70, passed away peacefully July 21, 2011 in Price to join her daughter, Julie Lynn, and her father, Gordon Elwood Schmidt, in heaven. Dianne was born in San Luis Obispo, Calif. to Gordon E. and Alice June Green Schmidt on July 9, 1941. She married Ernest Royce Brantley on Dec. 2, 1961.
Dianne was a church secretary at the time of her retirement at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Whittier, Calif. She enjoyed working with the pastor and especially the preschool teachers and children.
Upon retirement Dianne and her husband moved from southern California to Ferron to be close to her husbands sister, Phyllis Johnson. She loved the seasons here, especially the white Christmases.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Ernest Royce Brantley; daughter, Sheri Brantley Brett; grandson, Christian C.J. Brantley; mother, Alice Schmidt; brother, Verlin Schmidt; sister, Vivian Schmidt Turgeson; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Lynn, and her father, Gordon E. Schmidt.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Ferron City Cemetery. There will be a viewing Tuesday, July 26, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 N. Center Street, Castle Dale). Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Dianne at www.fausettmortuary.com.
