Born July 31, 1941 in Phoenix, Ariz., passed away Jan. 20 2012 at home in Ferron, Utah. Bill was a MP in the Navy for four years stationed in Hawaii. Upon returning to civilian life, he went to work for Bill Johnson’s Equipment in Phoenix, Ariz. starting as a machinist and then to shop supervisor, where he spent the next 46 years.
If you met Bill even one time you would never forget him. He had an outrageous sense of humor, and you always knew where you stood with him.
In 1963 at the tender age of 22, Bill met and married Jean Shreve and became the instant father of six children. He taught them how to fish and hunt, and passed his sense of humor on to them. Bill was widowed in 1984, and in 1985 married Shirley Settineri. Shirley passed away August 2010. Bill moved to Ferron to live with his step-son Steven (Vickie) Shreve.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother Maggie Hall Ayers and father Orson Ayers, four brothers, and three sisters, and a step-son David. He is survived by his brother Val Ayers, step-son Steven (Vickie) Shreve, Theresa Bonono, Roxanne (Von) Green, Pam (Russ) Winters, Ruby (Dave) Hall, step-daughter Karen (Oggy) Pina, step-son Phillip Settineri, and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Per Bill’s wishes there was not a funeral or memorial service. There will be a celebration of his life on Feb. 25 beginning at 1 p.m. at the home of Steven Shreve in Ferron.
