PRICE-Lael Mortensen Miller, our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on May 2, 2012 only days after celebrating her 90th birthday with extended family. Lael was the third of five children born to Harry Bryan Mortensen and Myrtle Larson on April 26, 1922 in Cleveland, Utah.
She graduated valedictorian from North Emery High School in 1940 and attended Brigham Young University. She married Bern Lee Miller, Nov. 15, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple and lived most of her adult life with quiet grace in Price, Utah. Possessing a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, she blessed her children with a legacy of faith, education, kindness, sacrifice, and honesty. She faithfully served in many callings as chorister, pianist, organist, visiting teacher, and in several auxiliary presidencies. In the last years she found fulfillment serving as a Family History Extraction worker.
Her most cherished calling was that of wife and mother. She is survived by her seven children, Pamela (David) Haag, Brent L. (Lynn) Miller, Shari (Ron) Winters, G. Layne (Debra) Miller, Debra (Randy) Draper, Anita (Larry) Marx, and David E. (Sonia) Miller; 38 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, sisters, Muriel Christensen, and Ona Frandsen.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Arva Lue Merrell, brother, H. Boyd Mortensen, granddaughter, Tauna Milligan, and grandson, Robbie Harrison.
The family would like to thank Layne and his wife Debbie Miller, along with faithful visiting and home teachers for making it possible for her to remain in the family home in which she had lived for the past 70 years.
