FERRON-Our sweet loving mother, grandma, and friend, Florene Zwahlen Berensen, 93, returned to Heavenly Father on April 24, 2012 in Ferron, Utah. She was born May 7, 1918 in Ferron to Fredrich Albert and Irene Killpack Zwahlen. She married Clayton N. Berensen Jan. 28, 1937 and then later solemnized their marriage in the Manti Temple.
She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She loved her membership in the LDS church, where she had many callings, which included serving three LDS missions with her husband. She always kept her temple recommend current and faithfully paid a full tithing.
We all knew she loved each of us unconditionally. She was a very loving and giving person greeting everyone with hugs and goodies. We were amazed at her strength in mind, body and her spirituality. Mom loved to read and keep up with current events. Keeping her mind sharp was very important to her. She always looked forward to Fridays and being with her family.
She is survived by her children Gary C. (Jean) Berensen of Price, Sandra (Roger) Killpack of Ferron, and Laurel (Randy) Magnuson of Castle Dale. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Florene was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton N. Berensen, and son, Bruce N. Berensen; and by her four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Blue Hills LDS Chapel (35 West 200 North, Ferron). A viewing was held from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment was in the Ferron City Cemetery. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guest book and share memories of Florene at www.fausettmortuary.com.
