PRICE-Myrtle Ree Jessen Slaugh, age 83, passed away on Aug. 22, 2012 in Price, Utah. She was born on May 21, 1929 in Price, Utah to Dowd and Myrtle Larsen Jessen.
She married Chester F. Slaugh on June 14, 1953 in Price, Utah.
Myrtle Ree was born and raised in Price. She attended Carbon College and USU, graduating with a Home Economics degree. She and Chester owned and operated Slaugh Floral and Nursery and a hardware store on Main Street in Price. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading numerous books.
Survived by her children: Bryce Slaugh of Price, Utah, Linda (Larry) Daley of Huntington, Utah, Janice (Larry) Bruno of Price, Utah, Brent Slaugh of Murray, Utah, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers: Dowd “Bob” (Barbara) Jessen of Kentfield, Calif., David (Bettie) Jessen of Flagstaff, Ariz., and sister Lee Strang of Murray, Utah.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Jeffrey Daley, and a brother-in-law, Richard Strang.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary Chapel, 680 East 100 South, Price, Utah. A viewing was held on Saturday, from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Fausett Mortuary. Interment was at the Price City Cemetery.
