FERRON – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Phillip Nevin Jones, passed away Sept. 7, 2012. He was born Aug. 30, 1942 in Castle Dale, Utah to Lonel L. and Sarah Levae Jones. He worked as a salesman for many years and later owned his own business. He recently retired from the Hunter Power Plant in Emery County.
Phil loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours in the mountains of Utah. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and his love of fishing led him to design several lures and other fishing products that he successfully produced and sold. He was also a talented artist who created many beautiful pieces working with polished rocks. Phil loved life and his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He dearly loved his extended family as well and spent a lot of time with his cousins who he looked upon as brothers and sisters. He made friends wherever he went and was always fun to be around. He spent most of his life in Emery County, and though he occasionally left, he always returned to the place he called home.
Phil is survived by his wife Audrey; daughter, Sandi (Greg) Neville; son, Phillip Shay Jones; stepsons, Jeff Barney and Justin Barney; stepdaughter, Troy Cox; and his grandchildren: Elle Neville, Zane Neville, Indiana Jones, Maya Anderson, and Kylie Scovill. He is also survived by his brothers: Calvin K. (Jolene) Jones of Murray, Utah, and Dallan (Helen) Jones of Olympia Wash.; and his sister, Carol Ann (Kirk) Scovill of Tacoma, Wash. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cathy Majors Jones.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday Sept. 13, 2012 at 11 am at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, Utah (720 North Center Street). Family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery.
