CLAWSON – Albert Cecil Hyatt, Jr., age 87, passed away Dec. 11, 2012. Al was born July 11, 1925 to Albert Cecil and Della Mae Peeper Hyatt in Delta, Colo. He married Tommye Earlene Ross Hyatt Tweet in California. They later divorced.
Al was raised most of his childhood in Delta, Colo., but in 1940, at the age of 15, he and his family moved to Compton, Calif. Shortly thereafter he returned to Colorado. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. In the military he received his G.E.D. and college degree in Electrical Engineering. He also worked as a radio operator in the Air Force and learned to fly. After four years of military service Al returned to California where he worked in construction. In 1964 he moved to Clawson, Utah and purchased a farm, which he and his family worked together. In Al’s early years, he enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he also had a great love for animals. Al will be remembered as a good person who loved to help others.
Al is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Ed) Lechene of Clawson; sister, Lorraine Meyes of Fullerton, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Albert Keith Hyatt and Jerald Thomas Hyatt; sister, Lavina Swope; and brother-in-law, Al Meyes.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 N. Center St., Castle Dale). There was a viewing from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Mortuary prior to the services. Interment is in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Al at www.fausettmortuary.com.
