A group of 100 girls were evacuated from a church camp near Miller’s Flat Reservoir as a precaution and have been relocated at the Fairview LDS Stake Center in Fairview. No structures are currently threatened and no roads have been closed.
As of Tuesday afternoon the fire had burned 70 acres. There is one helicopter on site and it is staging an air attack. There are 12 crew members, 12 smokejumpers, and two engines currently working to suppress the fire. Another fire crew is en route to the site.
There have been several inquiries regarding other possible fires in the area. A helicopter fly-over verified that the Seeley Fire is the only fire on the Wasatch Plateau at this time.
Due to extremely dry conditions, all public and private lands in unincorporated areas in the state of Utah are under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, which ban all campfires outside of designated fire rings in developed campgrounds and bans smoking except in an enclosed vehicle or building.
As always, fireworks are banned in the National Forest.
