The general season pheasant hunt opens on Nov. 3 and will continue until Nov. 18, except on state and federal land in Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties, where the extended season runs until Dec. 2.
DWR biologists will stock 65 roosters at both Desert Lake and the Huntington game bird farm just before the season opener. Another 65 roosters will be planted at each location just before the second weekend of the hunt.
The bag limit is two roosters. Hunters at Desert Lake must use non-toxic shot, even when shooting pheasants. A hunting or combination license is required to hunt pheasants.
There is no age limit for hunting upland game in Utah. If a youth has passed a hunter education course, then he or she may hunt upland game.
