Pleasant Valley Days, one of the premier events of the summer in Carbon County, has been cancelled for this year due to the Seeley Fire and it repercussions on the area.
In a short statement issued on Monday, addressing the fact that the event had been moved to this coming weekend from last week, the Pleasant Valley Days Committee said that “due to the increasing size of the Seeley Mountain fire, Pleasant Valley Days has been cancelled for 2012.”
The Fourth of July event which has been going on for decades is famous with those who attend year after year for its fun mountina atmosphere, the Kiwanis Duckie Race and the fireworks that are set off from the island in the middle of Scofield Reservoir each year.
