CASTLE DALE, UTAH :- Albert Vernon Oman Jr., 80, passed away peacefully July 4, 2012 in Castle Dale, Utah. He was born May 5, 1932 in Moroni, Utah to Albert Vernon Oman and Mary Dorthea Larsen. He married Naoima Mills in April of 1955, later divorced. He married Anita Cox in Dec. of 1979, later divorced.
He served his country in the U.S Army.
Dad served in many LDS church callings and was a former Mayor of Castle Dale. More than anything in his life, Dad loved scouting. He served the young men of scouting tirelessly. Dad could tell a good story, you just never knew if it was true or not.
He is survived by: children-Jackie DeFriez, Elaine (Kerry) Lake, Barbara Moore, Sherrie (Todd) Stone, Candy (Kurt) Price, and Summer (Joe) Clark. He has 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center (35 E. Main Street). There was a viewing Sunday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 N. Center Street, Castle Dale) and on Monday at the Stake Center from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment was in the Castle Dale City Cemetery.
