CASTLE DALE – Dodd N. Wilstead, age 71, passed away Feb. 17, 2013 at his home in Castle Dale. Dodd was born July 15, 1941 in Castle Gate, Utah to Samuel Dodd and Mary Clarissa Allred Wilstead. He married Connie Adams in Cleveland, Utah on May 26, 1962. Their marriage was solemnized on March 27, 2010 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Dodd attended school in Carbon County graduating from Carbon High School in 1959. He worked at Square Deal Market in Helper, and then went on to work for Utah Power & Light for 34 years. He owned and operated a trucking company and enjoyed working the farm with his family for many years.
Dodd loved the outdoors and participating in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was very proud of his grandkids and loved supporting them by watching them participate in all their activities. Dodd will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; children: Tracy Clark of Ferron, Trent (Nicole) Wilstead of Huntington, and Tyler Wilstead of Castle Dale; siblings: Etova Snow of Castle Dale, Seretia (Sharpe) Snow of Castle Dale, and Russell (Denise) Wilstead of Spring Glen; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lynden Wilstead; brother-in-law, John Snow; and son-in-law, Ed Clark.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Castle Dale LDS Eighth North Chapel (165 West 800 North). There will be a viewing Tuesday, Feb. 19 also at the church from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery.
