Cleveland-Donald Larsen, age 91 passed away on Jan. 21, 2013 in Cleveland, Utah. He was born on Oct. 22, 1921 to Louis P. and Mary Jane Ward Larsen in Cleveland, Utah. Don married Sybil LaRue Stevenson on Sept. 29, 1943 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Don worked in the coal mines for nearly 40 years, before retiring from Kaiser Steel, he helped set up the first long wall mining in Carbon County. After retirement he enjoyed farming with his family on their farm near Elmo. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Scofield. Don loved spending time with family especially his sweetheart LaRue.
Survived by his wife, LaRue, children: Judy (Ray) Rowley of Huntington, Utah, Brent Larsen, Brad (Joann) Larsen both of Scottsdale, Ariz; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brother Delyle “Dee” (Loretta) Larsen, and sister Sherma Gardner both of Cleveland, Utah.
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS Chapel (355 West 100 North). There will be a viewing Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 6-7 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
