Swim team competes against Richfield

Just after the holiday break, the Emery High swim team hosted region rival Richfield in a dual swim meet at the Emery County Aquatic Center. Although the Emery women defeated their counterparts 114-104, the Emery men lost 117-99 allowing Richfield to win the overall title by a score of 221-213.
Emery won 12 of the 22 events but depth came into play as Richfield had more of it to claim the win. Emery actually won eight of the 11 women’s events while the men only won four of 11.
The three Emery relay teams all won. Members of the 200-yard medley team were Madi Allinson, Melece Pulli, Jessica Guymon and Laryssa Guymon. Members of the 200-yard free relay team were Chyanne Carter, Tanner Peterson, Hailee Rogers and Madi Allinson. Members of the 400-yard free relay team were Jessica Guymon, Laryssa Guymon, Hailee Rogers and Chyanne Carter.
Individual women winners were Laryssa Guymon in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breaststroke, Hailee Rogers in the 100-yard fly and the 100-yard backstroke and Jessica Guymon in the 100-yard freestyle. The Emery men’s team of McKade Hansen, Levi Jensen, Kayden Parkins and Justan Potter won the 200-yard free relay. Individual men winners were Tyler Pulli in the 200-yard freestyle, Spencer Fauver in the 50-yard freestyle and Justan Potter in the 100-yard freestyle.
Second place finishers for the women were Madi Allinson in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard back and Chyanne Carter in the 100-yard free and the 50-yard free. Second place finishers for the men were Justan Potter in the 50-yard free, Kayden Parkins in the 100-yard free, Colton Clement in the 500-yard free and Tyler Pulli in the 100-yard breast. The men’s 400-yard free relay team of Spencer Fauver, Robert Boyer, Colton Clement and Tyler Pulli also finished second. The team will have a meet at Carbon on Jan. 8, at Uinta Jan. 10, and the region swim meet Jan. 26 also at Carbon.
