On Dec. 20, 2012, Andrew D Mills, 46, passed away in Las Vegas, Nev. after a long battle with cancer related illnesses. He was born on March 4, 1966 in Cedar City, Utah to Roy David and Mary Jane Mills. Andy grew up in Las Vegas, Nev., moving to Utah and living in Price and Murray for a number of years before moving back to Las Vegas with his lifelong partner, Deborah Lopez in 2001.
Andy worked in various jobs over the years including a steel foundry worker, horizontal driller and concrete cutter. Andy was an avid sports fan who loved watching NASCAR and football, most specifically the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was referred to as Macho Andy in lieu of Uncle Andy by his numerous nieces and nephews. Andy was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was fun to be around and always had a lot to say. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and family.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Evans (Nana); his eldest sister, Jamie Rae Hassell; nephew, Weston Evans; sister-in-law, Keven Mills; and grandparents Smiles and James Oveson. He is survived by his lifelong partner, Deborah Lopez; children, Chris (Suzie) Lopez and Andi Lynn (Jace) Manwill; and one granddaughter, Gabriel Lopez, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; father, Roy (Darlene) Mills of Sandy Valley, Nev.; brothers, Jase Mills of Price Utah and Shay (Marija) Evans, Costa Mesa, Calif.; sisters, Kim Coleman of Gillette Wyo.; Mary Jo (Lavar) Winsor of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Roylynn (Paul) Brand of Long Island, N.Y.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 12, 2012 in Las Vegas Nevada.
