PRICE-Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Echo Nordell Petersen Judd, age 89, passed away peacefully with family on September 2, 2013 at the Beehive Home in Price. She was born July 12, 1924 in Ferron, Utah to Alban and Delores Swasey Nordell. Married Charles J. Petersen, May 10, 1941 in Price, Utah; he died July 9, 1989. Married Robert Judd, March 1, 1991 in Elko, Nevada; he preceded her in death on August 8, 2011.
Echo was a lifelong resident of Carbon and Emery counties where she worked as a beautician in her home for many years. She also worked at the Parkdale Care Center and at the Carbon County Senior Citizens Center in Price. Echo had a zest for life and her wonderful sense of humor warmed the hearts of many. She enjoyed reading, quilting, cooking and caring for her family. Echo loved the Nordell family reunions that were held on Labor Day weekend and it was only fitting that she joined her family this weekend. We envy her big reunion with loved ones already passed. We love you Mom and your memory will be cherished for generations. Survived by her son, Cameron (Carol) Petersen, West Jordan; daughter, Carol (Les) Leturgez, Price; step-children, Cam (Sherry) Campbell, Castle Dale, Rick (Debbie) Campbell, Delta, CO, Glenda (Bobby) Sandoval, California; brother, Ross (Virginia) Nordell, Manti; sister, Roma Powell, Huntington; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Echo was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Charles J. Petersen and Robert Judd; son, Bryon; five brothers, Dale, Dean, Buster, Dewey and Randy Nordell; and sister, LaVon Seeley. Memorial service was held, Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, 1 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family was at Mitchell’s Friday one half prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Echo at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
