CLEVELAND- Leona Christensen, age 90, passed away on Feb. 26, 2013 in Price, Utah. She was born June 9, 1922 in Rangley, Colo. to John Lee and Ida Pearl Long Wagner. Leona married Charlie Majors, they later divorced, she then married James Christensen on Nov. 3, 1979 in Wellington, Utah.
Leona grew up in the Uintah Basin, she grew up as a cowboy and was one at heart her entire life, and gained a love for horses. She raised her family in Huntington, UT. Leona attended CEU and earned her nursing degree, and worked over 30 years as a nurse. Leona was a care giver for many families in Carbon and Emery County. Leona’s hobbies included gardening, quilting, and dancing. She will be remembered as a loving, compassionate, hard working lady.
She is survived by her children: Karolye Bowman of Huntington, Utah, Jerry (Jackie) Majors of Slidel, La Iris “Bunny” Bean, Drucilla “Judy” Palmer both of Cleveland, Utah, Zen (Teressa) Majors of Richfield, Utah, daughter-in-law, Donna Majors of Huntington, Utah, nephew, Gail Wagner of Ariz., sister, Arvila Campbell of Lake Havasu, Ariz., 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband James, parents, son, Jimmy Majors, nephew, Larry Wagner, three sisters, and six brothers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you take a friend to lunch, buy a child in need new shoes, or visit a care center, just pay it forward.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price (680 East 100 South). A viewing will be held prior to the service at the mortuary from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be held in the Myton City Cemetery following the services.
