At the recent Emery County Business Chamber Lunch and Learn Gordon’s Floral was highlighted.
Gordon’s Nursery and Floral has been in business for 23 years. It started as a small greenhouse in Brent and Hilary’s back yard. They then expanded into a full service floral. The business has grown and expanded to the present location, 686 North 400 East in Huntington.
Tammy Oviatt said they are growing 75 tomato plants so they can have tomatoes for sale during the winter.
The floral side of the business is always busy with flowers for funerals and weddings as well as school dances and other events.
The business has balloon bouquets and vinyl lettering as well as many craft items and seasonal decorations. Currently the Halloween wreaths are very popular.
With the vinyl lettering they can also make signs for elections.
They are thinking of branching out and offering seed for farmers and feed products.
A new area the business is going into is horse rides. They have a mini-pony that can be rented for birthday parties and other events. They have horses that can be used for therapy animals if someone in the area has that need.
Poinsettias will be available for the holiday season.
Gordon’s Floral employs six people during the winter and 12 during the busy spring and summer months.
Gordon’s Floral delivers to all of Emery and Carbon County.
