Emery FFA students received many awards at the 75th Utah State Convention held in Logan on March 20-22. Students attending this years convertion were Cassie Randall, Earl Tucker, Caleb Homer, Jess Housekeeper, Hannah Anderson, Samantha Rudman, Megan Sorenson, Jessie Bennett, Amber Nielsen, Trista Beagley, Amber Brasher, JanaLee Tuttle, Cierra Jones, Kortnie Anderson, Joel McKie (national southern region vice president), Heather Hansen and Pennie Christiansen. While at the convention students attended workshops by professional presenters and past state officers. Awards received were Superior Chapter Award, eight State FFA degrees: Kayla Peacock, Cierra Jones, Hannah Anderson, Caleb Homer, Samantha Rudman, Jessie Bennett, Pennie Christensen and Trista Beagley. Cierra Jones won first place in Agriculture Communications Proficiency and will advance to western regionals for competition this summer.
Kayla Peacock was the State Chairman of the Chapter Records Committee. Emery was also the state winning Chapter Display and it will advance to Louisville, Ky. in October for national recognition. Also, students that will be attending Louisville this October are Roger Anderson (Bro) and Bryant McMullin where they will be receiving their American FFA degrees.
While at state, Emery competed in the Parliamentary Procedure Career Development event and placed fourth. Kortnie Anderson and Pennie Christiansen ran for state office and the chapter competed in chapter records competition.
