Born June 9, 1940 in Clawson, Emery County, Utah to Clara Cox and Orson Clen Barney. Raised by mother, Clara and stepfather, Joseph C. Jensen. Graduated from South Emery High School in 1958. Moved to Salt Lake City May 20, 1958 and remained in the area until her passing. She enjoyed taking care of others.
Married Vincent R. Martinez, Dec. 22, 1965, bearing two sons, Richard and Lynn. Later divorced February 16, 1982. Remarried June 29, 1985 to Robert O. Ward. Survived by son, Lynn Martinez (Bridget); four grandchildren, Jake, Mitch, Bryce and Brynn; siblings, Kay (Jerry) Jeffs, Robert C. (Linda) Barney, Chris (Kathleen) Jensen, Phillip (Pauline) Jensen, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Richard Martinez and husband, Robert Ward.
Funeral Services were held for Carol on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family received friends at a visitation Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
