Winter arrived in Emery County on Jan. 30 when some much needed snow fell in the valley. The mountains received three-four inches with more accumulation over the San Rafael Swell and south.
There were several slide-offs along I-70 which damaged vehicles.
Huntington and areas north received one-two inches. Castle Dale received approximately two inches. The Clawson/Ferron area received three-four inches. Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk said, “There were several slide-offs on SR-10 as well as I-70. The roads were slick and icy creating hazardous conditions. There were several semi-truck spinouts on the Ferron dugway. In Clawson there was a collision between the city snow plow and a vehicle. Emery County is having a very dry winter to date.
