I think in this day and age the newspapers are filled with violence and media issues none of us really want to read. I would like to take this opportunity to take my hat off and say way to go to some people that have done some good.
First, thanks to Emery County and the people that had the idea and drive to create the Buckhorn Tourist Information Center. It is a good thing and instills in the public that we care about our history and being good stewards of our pubic lands. The center serves many tourists.
Second, thanks to LaMar Guymon, who has with a little help created and established a couple of mountain bike trails that are becoming to be known as first class in the ranks of the people in the mountain bike world.
Third, thanks to Val Payne and his help for installation of the display with the old Buckhorn water pump. Although it needs to be finished and needs a plaque telling about its history, it shows that we are concerned about our history and that it is very important to us.
Lastly, thanks to Eldon Holmes and his help for creating the unique and ghostly figures that are now traveling a part of the Old Spanish Trail through Emery County. Again a testament to our love and concern for our local history.
Please, people, lets prove to be good stewards and help take care of these creations that took so much time and energy.
