The Emery High Boys Junior Varsity and Sophomore teams each defeated Carbon last week. The sophomores won the first game of the day 62-40 and the JV then defeated Carbon 69-54.
So who are these guys? I’m glad you asked. They are the next couple of years future at Emery High School. The JV team consists of Zeke Atwood, who is the leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker of this team. Ty Gardiner is the tallest player at 6’4″ and a good rebounder. Keaton Cowley likes to shoot threes and is the biggest body on the team. Matt Stucki is the point guard and runs the offense. Matt teams with Isaac Bawden to be one of the shortest but most feisty backcourts anywhere.
Emery’s sophomores consist of big men Trevor Tuttle, Ben Roundy and Bruce Clement. Swingmen are Joey Bernard, Zac Grindley and Mike Blomquist, who also happen to be the leading scorers on this team. Daniel Espino and Brad Sitterud play in the backcourt.
