Helper and Price will host the first Utah’s Own Summit intended to acquaint local companies with the resources that are available to them through their Utah Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Utah’s Own Program. Food-oriented companies are especially invited to hear from industry experts on how to market and grow their businesses.
When: Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Admission is free, food is included. Registration is available by calling Connie at 435-613-5440 or connie.dyreng@usu.edu.
Where: Balance Rock Eatery, 148 South Main Street, Helper, Utah.
Why: To help area businesses expand, add jobs, purchase more products from local farmers and ranchers, and improve rural Utah’s economy. Registration with the Utah’s Own program is also free.
Who: Presentations and information will be provided by: Luann Adams, Commissioner of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food; Jed Christenson, Director of the Utah’s Own Program; Karin Allen, PhD, Food Quality and Entrepreneurship Specialist; and Ryan Murray, Director of the Price SBDC. All are invited to attend the Summit which will provide an overview about the Utah’s Own Program and learn about resources available to businesses. Attendees will also here from successful Utah’s Own members about how the Program has helped them be successful.
