FERRON: Marjorie Davis Moffit, age, 91 passed away, Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Ferron, Utah. She was born May 21, 1922 in Orangeville, Utah to Robert Kirby and Maude Miles Davis. She married Homer C. Moffitt on March 24, 1940 in Castle Dale, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.
Marjorie was raised in Orangeville, and at the age of six, she moved in with her sister and brother-in-law, Lillie (Grant) Snow who raised her. She graduated from Central High School in Castle Dale. Marjorie and her husband lived in Green River for about 20 years. While there she worked for Winston Brother & Stauffer Chemical as the office manager for many years. She also worked in the Recorders Office in the Emery County Courthouse, in Castle Dale.
Marjorie was a friend to everyone. She enjoyed playing Bridge in a club with her friends for 17 years. She loved to quilt, cook and crochet. Her family was her life, and she always looked forward to the holidays and family gatherings, so they could all be together.
She is survived by her children: Jolene (Gary) Petty of Emery, Utah, Kimble (Betty) Moffitt of Fernly, Neva., and Phillip (Anna) Moffitt of Wickenburg, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Sylvia (Merrill) Scow of Tempe, Ariz. and Maude Killpack (Larry) Farison of Ft. Myers, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer; four sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at Noon, Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Ferron LDS Stake Center, 555 S. 400 W., Ferron. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will be in the Castle Dale City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
