The Green River Pirates were successful in their homecoming endeavors last weekend as both Pirate basketball teams defeated Intermountain Christian.
The Lady Pirates won their game 35-34 and the boys their game 85-30.
For the girls, Taylor Johnson hit a free throw with three seconds left in the game to break a 34-34 tie and give the host team the win in the first of the two varsity games.
Johnson led the team with 14 points and added 12 rebounds as she helped her team to the win.
Kira Engleman scored 9 points and Savannah Williams and Sydney Thayn each scored 6 points for the team.
Unfortunately the boys individual scoring was not available.
The Lady Pirates open region play this Wednesday with a game at Monticello .
The boys will play Altamont this Saturday with the game starting at 6 pm in the Pirate gym.
