Emery High hosted the region golf teams last week at the Millsite Golf Course in Ferron. Although the Spartans continued their history of finishing third in region meets. This time they finished third by only two strokes. They shot a 334, South Sevier shot a 342 for second place.
McKoy Holt had his best score of the season as he shot a team-best 79. Jordan Fuller finished with an 82 followed by Kyler Farley with an 84 and Race Nielson with an 89. One of Emery’s golfers was in a group that was disqualified as they misunderstood a ground rule.
The region meet was held at Moab on Sept. 23. The golf team will participate in state on Oct. 8 and 9 at Southgate in St. George. Representing the team will be: TyeRay Migliori, Mark DeBry, Jordan Fuller, Race Nielson, Kyler Farley, McKoy Holt. Kyler Farley was named to the all-region team. Emery took third at the region meet.
