East Carbon Police along with the Carbon County Medical Examiner were dispatched to UtahAmerican Energy’s Westridge Mine early Tuesday morning to investigate the death of an employee at the eastern Carbon County coal mine.
According to East Carbon Police Chief Sam Leonard, Alejandro Ramirez, 46, was crushed to death late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning. Public safety officials were called to the scene at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
Castleview Hospital’s Eagle AirMed and the Sunnyside Ambulance were dispatched and then called off after it was learned that Ramirez had expired at the mine, said Leonard.
Ramirez had reportedly lived in both Huntington and Price recently and information has not yet been released concerning the details of the incident which killed him.
