PRICE- Lavar Archie Hamilton, age 77, left us following a brief battle with liver cancer on Sept. 20, 2014.
He was born Dec. 26, 1936 in Price to Archie Lavar and Lennavee Oliver Hamilton.
Archie was industrious, a visionary and a perfectionist. Archie designed highways for the Department of Transportation. The roads he loved the best are his first job Price River Road, Billy’s Mountain at Thistle and Spotted Wolf Canyon. He enjoyed working alongside his sons Todd and Terry and restoring classic Mustangs. The cars won many trophies and awards. He loved his Methodist Church family and had a close group of great friends. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a life member of Price Elk’s Lodge #1550. Archie served as Director of Four Corners Mental Health and was on the Price City Planning and Zoning Board. He served in the US Army Reserves. “Peace Be With You Brother.”
He leaves behind his partner of 54 years, Melanie; sons, Todd (Holly) Hamilton, Terry (Cindy) Hamilton; grandsons, Shey (Liz), Jace, Jeremiah, Jered, Jordan, Joey and Justin; brothers, Scott and John; special cousin, Barbara Ladakis; his beloved seven cats, Percy, Poppy, Pippi, Ringo, Roxie, Ally and Grayboy.
Preceded in death by the love of his life, his white Belington Terrier dog Molly who passed away in 2012.
At Archie’s request there will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Archie online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
