Melon Days pageant at GRHS Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.

"Six girls will compete for the honor of being Miss Melon Days and presiding over the celebration on Sept. 19-20. The pageant will be at Green River High School on Friday night at 7 p.m. rear: Carlei Gee, Judith Trejo, middle-Yesenia Hernandez, Tristen Lehnhoff; front Cassidee Moore and Kira Engleman."

Activities begin in Green River
Wednesday, Sept. 17: City of Green River Melon Days Activities 5pm: Melon Cooking and Melon Carving entries due at City Park; Melon Cooking Contest: All entries must contain melon. Items can be baked, canned, cooked, made into a salad or drink. Win a cash prize. Melon Carving Contest: Carve a melon any way you choose and bring it to the park to display and be judged. Win a cash prize. 5:30 pm: Float Parade at City Park 6 pm: Dinner served at City Park Pavilion.
Menu includes pulled pork, teriyaki chicken, rolls, baked beans, green salad, melon balls, and cookies.
Thursday, September 18: Green River Melon Days Activities 6pm: Seed spitting contest w/prizes. Dusk: CHEER Movie in the Park – “Turner and Hooch”
Friday, September 19th: Green River Melon Days Activities 9am: 3 Man Scramble at Green River Golf Course, $195 per team. No more than 10 between partners. 35 percent of combined handicaps. Max Handicap 24. UGA or established handicap. Required evenly split flights. Gross and net. Call 564-8882 for more details. 4 pm: Shooting Tournament at Shooting Sports Park 7 pm: Miss Melon Days Scholarship Pageant at Green River High 9pm: Free Concert in the Park – Zam Trip
Saturday, September 20: Green River Melon Days Activities 7 am: Melon Days Boy Scout Breakfast at City Park Please come support our boys! Troop 209 Boy Scouts of America. Menu includes ham, eggs, orange drink, and all you can eat pancakes. 7am: Melon Run 5K Run Walk 8 am – 4 pm: Rummage and Bake Sale at Green River Bible Church; Come find some treasures! Help support our new building project. Feel free to donate any of your extra treasures. Drop stuff off at the church or call (435) 630-1436. 10 am: Melon Days Parade on Main Street 3pm: Duck Race 6:30 pm: Free Concert in the Park – The Statuettes Saturday, September 20th from 8 pm-12 am: Free Concert and Dance at West Winds* We welcome all ages.
