Crystal Wilmer has opened her massage therapy business in her home in Ferron. The Emery County Business Chamber welcomed the business. Wilmer will do massages at her home business where she has a room dedicated to creating a relaxing experience for her clients. She will also bring her massage chair or table and visit your home, office or business. Are you looking for the perfect gift for your loved ones? What about your employees? Wilmer encourages you to think about treating them to a massage. You’ll be glad you did, happy and relaxed employees are more productive.
She offers several types of massages with varying durations of time. If you only have a few minutes, then a chair massage is for you. In just a few minutes your neck and back will be loosened up. There are pregnancy massages to treat the mother to be on a table designed for expectant mothers. This massage will increase blood flow and ease the extra strain on the body that comes with pregnancy.
The warm stone massage uses warm stones to take the strain out of overworked muscles.
A relaxation massage can be for 30 minutes, 60 minutes or 90 minutes. These massages relieve tension, pain and stress. Wilmer also does aromatherapy which is the ancient science of healing, relaxing and energizing by the use of plants and their parts.
Wilmer received her education at the Utah College of Massage Therapy and she is licensed. She has worked doing chair massages at the Deer Valley resort. She has done corporate massages, worked in a medical spa and operated her own therapy business.
For the last several years, maintaining her own practice has been best as she schedules around the demands of a family. “I like making my own schedule,” said Wilmer. “We recently moved to Ferron. My husband started working at the power plants doing security work. He works at the Carbon Plant and the Huntington plant now. I grew up in Panguitch, my family owns two businesses there. I was helping my parents at the motel and restaurant, driving a school bus and operating my massage therapy business. I want to be home with our baby, and do what I like the best. So right now I am concentrating on building my massage therapy business here. My kids like it that I can stay home with them. We have a yours, mine and ours family. Our two girls are 7 and we have a son. We love it here, the people are so wonderful. I love small towns.
“When I started in massage therapy school, my stress level immediately dropped, I lost 15 pounds and my moods were balanced. One reason I attribute this to is massage improves your circulation. Another thing is I wasn’t cold all the time. From a health perspective it’s great. We don’t have to worry about as many doctor bills. I use massage on our children, too. It really helps with pain and headaches. I don’t offer guarantees, but I will do what I know best to help someone. I can’t fix everything, but will try to help people. I really like to see improvements in the people I work with. You can call me at 435-690-9184 to schedule an appointment. I offer 20 percent off your first visit. The gift certificates are 25 percent off right now, too. They need to be used by Jan. 31, if you purchase a gift certificate now.
“Once I went to one of my doctors houses and we did 30 minute massages for all the ladies at a party his wife was having. In Panguitch, I also did massages for ladies visiting a retreat held there. It really builds up company morale to have a massage on a regular basis.
“It’s a physically and mentally demanding job, but I love it. I like to work four-five hours a day. That’s about right. It’s really important to have good posture, it helps to keep your body aligned. I work on people of all ages, minors need to be accompanied by an adult. All my nieces and nephews love getting a massage. They were sad we were moving from Panguitch. Make sure you drink a lot of water. Water helps move the toxins from your body. Massage releases the toxins and you need to flush your body with plenty of water. I also do body talk and Reiki, which calms people down and is a flow of energy on specific pressure points on the body. It’s recommended you drink in ounces half of your body weight. Do a lot of stretching, too, to keep the body limber. Slouching over shortens the pec muscles. Massage is all about trying to have a healthier body. Women are usually more self-conscious, we keep you well covered for the full body massage,” said Wilmer.
The business is located at 125 South 400 West in Ferron.
