Business profile: Emery Care and Rehab

The Emery County Care and Rehab facility in Ferron is in a transition period, but the staff and management want everyone to know it’s business as usual caring for your loved ones.
Ilene Baker is the administrator for the care center. “We want everyone to know we are here and we’re doing well. We have been serving Carbon and Emery counties for 46 years.
“We have resident care and temporary care for those needing to recuperate and do physical therapy. We work hard to prevent infections in those recuperating from surgery or an accident.
“We have 24/7 care from nurses and CNAs. We have open beds at the facility. We are licensed for 55 beds. We have seven rooms that are available for independent living, private pay. These rooms have private showers and dining facilities. They have a fridge and a microwave and we are available to give as much help as the individual needs.
“I have been with the care center for 36 years and we have many long term employees here. Melody Killpack is our director of nursing,” said Baker.
The managment team at the care center meets each morning to keep things running smoothly. At the management meeting on this morning they voiced their perceptions on the care given at the center. They said, the residents are well taken care of and they receive quality care. They refer to everyone at the center as part of one big family.
They hope you think of the care center and the service that is available locally to keep your loved ones in the community. One member of the management team has friends from Salt Lake that are planning to use the facility for their aging loved ones. The team said it’s not a very far drive from Carbon County to make use of the facility in the country setting. It’s well worth the drive.
Their motto at the care center is one team one dream. Their goal is to be the best in the state. They have good food for the residents and can take care of any special dietary needs.The center offers many activities for the residents. The care center is more economical than similar facilities. Baker said they have an amazing crew and everyone truly cares for the residents. They are like a big family at the facility and it feels like home to employees and residents alike. The employees are 110 percent committed to make the facility succeed.
