Orangeville fire department responds to brush fire

On March 12, the Orangeville Fire Department responded to a brush fire at 260 West 300 South. A person was burning debris on his property when the fire started to get out of control.
The fire spread because of a southeast wind. Fire crews from Castle Dale and Ferron were also dispatched to assist with the fire. The Emery County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in putting out the fire.
An ambulance was dispatched to the fire to treat a person fighting the fire for exhaustion and smoke inhalation.
The fire spread approximately a quarter mile before it was extinguished. The fire burned brush, grass and a cottonwood tree.
