Emery County Business Chamber to host banquet

The Emery County Business Chamber Cordially invites you to the Annual Awards Banquet With guest speakers Delynn Fielding and Jeff Beicker from Rock River Resources. A prime rib or turkey dinner will be served $20 per plate.
The event will be held on March 19 and begins at 6 p.m. with social hour and 6:30 is the dinner and speakers. The banquet will be held at the Museum of the San Rafael 70 North 100 East Castle Dale.

After the guest speakers the business awards for the chamber businesses of the year will be awarded.

Guest speakers include: Jeff Beicker, the Chief Operating Officer of Rock River Resources and has more than 25 years of experience in midstream and downstream operations and substantial experience managing financial trading of commodities in the energy sector. Jeff has worked for Koch, Dynegy, Tenaska, and Enron as well as being a member of the New York Mercantile Exchange for several years and serving on numerous NYMEX committees. He has also served as a consultant to the Chicago Board of Trade, ExxonMobil, and the University of Houston, and has served as a guest lecturer on options and financial trading at Rice University and Texas A&M University. Rock River Resources is the company putting in the oil refinery and railroad spur in Green River.
DeLynn Fielding now works for the Governor’s Office of Economic Development as Rural Program Director. Fielding’s work in this area started in the private sector at Zion’s Bank, where he was Vice President and Regional Manager of Eastern Utah before taking an early retirement. Finding that retirement didn’t suit him just then, Fielding joined Carbon County as Economic Development Director in June 2000.
“As I started the job, our office knew that we wanted to expend resources chiefly on local business,” said Fielding. “The county had used funds to recruit outside business with little success and we could see that our efforts would be better spent working to create and expand the area’s market from within.”
“It was a great feeling to work with those start-up businesses,” said Fielding. “There were some fantastic success that came from that program, many of which are still in operation today.”
Starting in 2006, BEAR as it is known locally, used a revolutionary software program to catalog and gather information from every business operating in Carbon and Emery County. Once obtained, that information was used to disburse nearly $3 million in funding to local businesses, working to promote their continued expansion.
The Emery County Business Chamber welcomes everyone to attend this event to learn more about the Emery County Business climate and to enjoy a dinner by BKs Catering owned by Kent and Julie Wilson.
The event will also feature door prizes donated by local businesses. The final winners for the Shop Local campaign will be drawn on this night. The major prizes include a $300 gift certificate to Earl’s Furniture donated by the Emery County Progress and Earl’s Furniture, gift certificates to Food Ranch, and a Samsung Galaxy tab two-android seven inch tablet donated by Emery Telcom and a gift certificate for business training donated by the Small Business Development Center.
