DUP Afghan and CD
The Old Mill Camp of the DUP is offering a unique collection of over 200 pictures on CD. There are group pictures and pictures of past and present buildings in Ferron. The CD is being pre-sold to help raise money for the publishing of the book. Can be use as a screen saver or viewed as a picture album. The Old Mill Camp also has an afghan for sale. Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
Emery County Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly luncheon on Sept. 25 at noon in the Museum of the San Rafael. Mark Mansfield, plant superintendent of Hunter power plant will be the presenter. RSVP to the chamber office before Sept. 23 at 381-2547.
Emery County Historical Society
Join us as our featured speaker, Jack Pressett of Price, tells what it was like to mine coal back in the 40s and 50s in Carbon and Emery counties. Barbara Moore, Doris Walker and Candy Price will entertain with cowboy music. The program will begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Museum of the San Rafael.
Huntington City CDBG
Huntington City will be going after funding available through the Community Development Block Grant. A survey of approximately 345 residences will be conducted to establish the number of family members and income levels in order to qualify for this grant. The city urges you to cooperate in order to help make this application a success.
Huntington City Fall Burn Period
Huntington City open fall burn period will be from Sept. 20- Oct. 19. Burn permits will be required, pick them up at city hall. All burning must be done from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. This permitted burning does not include trash, garbage and debris burning, only weed growth along ditchbanks. Violators are subject to civil penalties. Do not put any limbs for pickup out on the street after Oct. 12.

Flu clinics have been scheduled the week of Oct. 13; Cleveland City Hall, Oct. 13, 8:30-10 a.m.; Huntington Senior Center, Oct. 13, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; Emery Senior Center, Oct. 13, 2:30-3:30 p.m.; Ferron Senior Center, Oct. 16, 8:30-10 a.m.; Castle Dale Public Health, Oct. 17, 8:30-11:30 a.m., 1:30-4:30 p.m., daily from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Must have have your medicare card, Medicaid card, CHIPS, or PEHP card with you in order to bill. If you do not have a card there will be a charge, no exceptions.
Union Local 6363
Attention, union meeting for local 6363 will be held the third Wednesday of every month at the District 22 office in Price. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Attend if you want to receive 70 year anniversary cap.

SEUOHV Club
SEUOHV Club will hold its meeting Sept. 23 at the courthouse in Castle Dale at 7 p.m. in Courtroom B. Some agenda items will be trail adoption, Christmas party, spring poker ride, 2004 jamboree and trail cat vandalism. Utah Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness
The Utah Commission of Racial and Ethnic Fairness in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice system in conjunction with other Salt Lake City based African American community organizations will sponsor a town meeting to listen to current public concerns, perceptions and experiences with the criminal justice and juvenile justice system and to inform the community about the commission’s activities. Narrows Project
Public meetings to discuss the proposed Narrows Project, located in Sanpete County, have been scheduled for: Sept. 22 at the Carbon County Commission Chambers, 120 East Main, Price from 6-7:30 p.m.; Sept. 23 at the Sanpete County Courthouse, 160 North Main Street in Manti from 5:30-7 p.m.
Castle Dale Library Story Time
Story Time for pre-schoolers will begin Oct. 3. It will be held every Friday at 11 a.m. Will be held every Friday except. Nov. 28, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
Attention Cleveland Residents
Representatives from the town will be contacting you regarding a short survery. The survey is the first requirement for the 2004 Community Block Grant. This grant and the survey is the same as the grant we received to purchase playground equipment. Your time and cooperation are appreciated. Veterans, Widows, and Dependents
A field service officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Service Office will be in your area to assist you in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits. The field service officer will be working out of the Price Workforce Service Center from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Oct. 9.
Emery County Republicans
The annual fall banquet will be held Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation Building in Castle Dale. Support the Emery County Republican party. Green River Gymkana

Wind Symphony Concert
The Eastern Utah Wind Symphony, a college-community ensemble at College of Eastern Utah, will present the first concert of its 2003-04 season on Sept. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Price Civic Auditorium. The performance will feature music by the British composer, Gordon Jacob. Admission is free.
Know Before You Go
Utah’s Off-Highway Vehicle Class will be held Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. in the County Building, 75 East Main, Castle Dale. Utah law states that children from ages 8-15 must be certified to operate an OHV on public lands. Register at the Emery County Recreation Office, 75 South 400 East, Castle Dale. Pennies by the Inch
The Pennies by the Inch campaign will run through Oct. 15. Volunteers wll be collecting funds to help families and children who are unable to pay for their medical needs.
