SALT LAKE/PRICE-The Honorable Paul Crawford Keller, age 88, passed away July 17, 2014, in Salt Lake City, Utah of causes incident to age.
Paul was born on August 22, 1925, to Albert Daniel Keller and Margaret Crawford Keller in Castle Dale, Utah. His early childhood was spent in Castle Dale with a move to Price while in high school. Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the armed services. Following his service in the
United States Air Force, he attended the University of Utah and went on to
earn a Juris Doctor Degree in 1951.
He married Flora Houston in Salt Lake City on December 31, 1953. Their
marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Paul served as a City Judge in Price, Utah for seven years and a Juvenile
Court Judge for 29 years in the 7th District for the State of Utah. He was
a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many different capacities
as a leader, teacher and missionary. He and his wife served in the
Washington D.C. North Mission and at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in
Salt Lake City. He lived honorably and with integrity in every aspect of his
life. Paul’s passion was for his family, both those who preceded him and
those who came after. His life was characterized by a tremendous love and
care for those closest to him, as well as generosity and kindness to all he
knew, including those who appeared before him on the bench. He was happiest
when he was providing for others, and did so until his passing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Flora of Salt Lake City, and
his children: W. James Keller (Janice) of Rexburg, Idaho, Robert C. Keller
(Lindsey) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Paula Jill Masters (Kevin) of Lakewood,
Colorado and Carol A. Mathis (William) of Bowling Green, Ohio; and sisters
Margaret K. Dixon of Cranberry, Pennsylvania and Peggy K. Lewis of Modesto,
California.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kirk A. Keller and daughter
Margaret Michele Keller. He had 13 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren, all of whom delighted him.
Funeral services will be held at the Little Cottonwood 1st Ward, 6350 Rodeo
Lane, Murray, Utah on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. The family will
receive visitors one hour prior to the service. A graveside service and
dedication of the grave will take place at the Price City Cemetery on that
day at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution to
the Caresource Charitable Foundation or a hospice of your choice.
