Laurel Weaver the director of the Castle Dale Senior Citizen Center made arrangements for the senior citizens of Emery County to have lunch at the Joe’s Valley Marina. They took buses and private cars up Straight Canyon, along Cottonwood Creek, into the mountains, around the north side of Joe’s Valley Lake and arrived at the marina on the lakeshore. This day was beautiful. The sky was nearly clear with a few white fluffy clouds reflecting in the azure blue waters of the lake.
On the menu at Joe’s Valley Marina were some of the following: a Reeder Bacon Cheeseburger, the Skyline Malibu Chicken, the Joe’s Valley Burger with a 1/3 pound Angus Chuck topped with Swiss cheese onion straws and barbecue sauce on sourdough bread, the Potter’s Burger, Academy Mills Chicken with breaded chicken breast, Wagon Ridge Chicken Strips, Rocky Canyon BLT, and the Chicken Strip Salad consisting of iceberg lettuce topped with breaded or grilled chicken, red onions, tomatoes, olives and shredded cheese. The Marina food and service was excellent. Everyone in the group seemed to enjoy the event.
While waiting for their food many in the group were able to learn about recent events in each other’s lives.
When the luncheon was over the group lined up on the porch overlooking the lake for a group photo.
Joe’s Valley Marina is owned and operated by Scott Labrum of Castle Dale. The cooks were Scott’s mother and father Linda and Ross Labrum from Richmond Utah.
Cassidy and Ashley were the waitresses for the day.
