Kenneth E. Nelson, 79, of Aurora, Colorado passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.
Ken was born on January 19, 1936 in Ferron, Utah to Edgar and Vernice Nelson. On June 1, 1957, he married Ernalee Flaim in Helper, Utah. He received his A.S. degree from Carbon College in 1956 and began his teaching career at Carbon High School and Granger High School. He then received his B.S. degree in 1959 and his M.S. degree in 1964 from the University of Utah. In 1962, he moved his family to Denver, Colorado to begin his 33-year journey as a high school chemistry and math teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School.
Ken is survived by his son, Brad (Karla Feickert) Nelson and his daughter, Kathy (Bruce) Martin; two grandchildren, Alex (Shannon) Nelson and Jessica Martin; his brothers, Lee (Karen) Nelson of Utah and Clyde (Jeanne) Nelson of Utah, and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ernalee and his sister Karma Miller.
