Orangeville City and Castle Dale experienced flooding along Cottonwood Creek between 5 and 6 p.m. June 10.
The flooding was caused by a storm front pushing moisture laden clouds up against the mountains west of Orangeville and dropping an abundance of rain.
Four or five miles of road west of Orangeville was flooded with mud and water. Due to the flooding the road to Joe’s Valley Dam was closed for a time by the Sheriff’s Office. In Orangeville, the city’s welcome park and ball field were flooded along with the parking lot at the Cotton Tree apartments.
The Orangeville property of Gail and Larry Lafrentz received a little more than a foot of flooding in their garage and around the home.
All roads are open again now after the flood.
