Our beloved father, Jerry Huntsman, returned to Heavenly Father, July 11, 2015, of natural causes. Born April 9, 1930, Huntington, Utah, to Ivan Lavon Huntsman and Orilla Adelia Guymon. Married Joan Flora Jensen, August 9, 1956. Sealed (Salt Lake Temple) January 1978.
Jerry and Joan resided in Sandy Utah for 55 yrs. Jerry was a master handyman, builder, and teacher. After serving on Guam in the Navy he went on to be highly recognized in a 33-year career at Hercules. He believed in honest work, loyalty and service, always noticing and improving things for others. He enjoyed the solitude of his farm in Buffalo. Loved gardening and sharing his harvest. Active in the LDS Church, he conducted life based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Preceded in death by the love of his life, Joan, who he tenderly cared for during her five-year battle with cancer, his parents, brother, two granddaughters and grandson.
Survived by his children; Steven (Sharlene) McKenna, Gwen McKenna Davis, Tom McKenna, Lavon (Paul) Maiersperger, Michael (Sheila) Huntsman, Ileen (Brett) Kennedy, 24 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren.
Viewing; Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5800 South 900 East, July 16, 6:00-7:30pm. Memorial Service, Friday, July 17, 2015, LDS Meetinghouse, 1085 Galena Drive, Sandy Utah. Viewing: 9-9:45am. Service: 10-11 am. Graveside service at Huntington City Cemetery 3 pm.
