Dear Editor,
When was the last time you went to the San Rafael Swell to enjoy a camping trip or a short outing at your favorite spot? Well the odds are that if you have not been there recently, when you do get there next, you will not be able to camp in your spot, or even drive there in a vehicle.
You see, the “stewards” of our land, the BLM, have been there. They have been signing off and closing our roads and our spots at an alarming rate.
Places like Box Flat, Pine Canyon and several spots along the Buckhorn Draw have been closed, to name a few.
A few of our county leaders are willing to do battle over this and they are fighting the needless closures. But it is going to take more than the few that are trying. It’s going to take the majority of us. There has to be something we can do. If you care, please take the time to be involved and let’s at least try to protect the rights that are ours.
